CIVIL LAB FACILITY

FLUID MECHANICS LAB

The lab is well-equipped with Floating Body (Ship), Bernoullis Theorem, Reynolds Number, Flow over Notches apparatus, Losses in pipe Due to friction, Pitot Tube, Venturimeter, Orifice Meter, Rotometer, Flow over Weir apparatus.

MECHANICS OF SOLID LAB

The laboratory is designed to carry out tasks to understand behaviour of mechanics and the properties of solid material. It has Universal testing machine, Impact testing machine and Rockwell cum Brinell hardness testing machine etc.

SURVEYING LAB

The Surveying Laboratory is equipped with modern surveying equipments, such as GPSbased surveying equipment, total stations, electronic theodolites, and automatic levels for basic instructional and research purposes.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION LAB

Lab is having models of Plate Girder, Bridge, Road suspension Bridge, R.C.C Deck slab Bridge, R.C.C Balanced Cantilever Bridge, Bridge Trusses, Road Culverts, arches, Model of Bricks, Model of Doors etc.

GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING LAB

The Geotechnical laboratory is equipped with different equipments to help the students to study the various physical properties of soil and identify the engineering behaviour of geo materails, assessing risks posed by different site conditions, designing earthworks and foundations for rendering a safe and stable load bearing medium to the structure.

CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY LAB

It allows students to assess the various fresh and hardened concrete properties that may affect the performance of concrete members. Major equipments : CTM, Oven, sieve shaker, vibration table, Vee-Bee consistometer, compacting factor apparatus, concrete mixers, moulds, etc.

HIGHWAY ENGINEERING LAB

Highway engineering is one of the branches of civil engineering. It deals with the process of design, construction and maintenance of different types of roads. Apart from the design, construction and maintenance of different types of roads, highway engineering also includes the study of development, planning and locations of roads, materials required for their construction, highway traffic performance and its' control and drainage of roads etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING LAB

The Lab is equipped with all required instruments to conduct experiments for analysis. Major equipments available are: B.O.D. Incubator, bio. incubator, oven, pH meter, turbidity meter, jar test, conductivity meter, mufle furnace, hot plate etc.

EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING LAB

The laboratory is designed to carry out experiments on vibrations. It helps students to understand structural behaviour imposed by dynamic loads. The laboratory is also equipped with High Frequency Shake Table with Model.

STRUCTURE ANALYSIS LAB

Structural analysis is the determination of the effects of loads on physical structures and their components. Structures subject to this type of analysis include all that must withstand loads, such as buildings, bridges, vehicles, machinery, furniture, attire, soil strata etc. Structural analysis incorporates the fields of applied mechanics, materials science and applied mathematics to compute a structure's deformations, internal forces, stresses, support reactions, accelerations, and stability

WATER RESOURCE ENGINEERING LAB

Water resources engineering is the quantitative study of the hydrologic cycle: the distribution and circulation of water linking the earth's atmosphere, land and oceans. Surface runoff is measured as the difference between precipitation and abstractions, such as infiltration (which replenishes groundwater flow), surface storage and evaporation.
